Bible Time Funnies...

Well more like "Prayer time funnies.."  

This morning we read about Jacob obeying God and going back to his homeland even though he was scared his brother would be mad at him.  Then Esau met his brother and gave him a big hug. (children's Bible).  

So after the story Jorge wanted to pray.  "Dear Jesus, thank your for we obey and thank you for our spanking and our discipline and for the duck that didn't bite Alex's finger at the Zoo.  And thank you for daddy to work and help people feel all better so that we can eat food."  

He covered  alot of ground, most of which we have prayed in different prayers.  For example, after he gets a spanking, we always pray and thank God for our discipline because He loves us.  

And when he says he doesn't want daddy to go to work I remind him that if daddy didn't go to work we wouldn't have money to eat. 

 Oh and he saved his brothers fingers at the Zoo the other day when Alex was not responding quick enough to my command to move said fingers because a large, nasty black duck looking thing was going to bite them off.  Jorge ran over and yanked his brother off the fence (much to Alex's disgust) and held him back until I could run that way and explain why he had to obey!  

Anyway.. cute prayers.. I love it! 

Bible Time Funnies...

Yesterday:  

Me: God made the Sun and the stars (we were reading about the creation story).  What is this right here? (pointing to the animals in the picture)

Jorge:  a lion. 

Me:  And who made the lion?  

Jorge:  Larryboy.

TODAY: 

After going over the fact that Adam was in the garden and was lonely so God made Eve to be his wife...

Me:  So Adam and Eve got married, just like mommy and daddy.  

Jorge:  you got married to Daddy Garcia?  

Me:  yes I did!  

Jorge:  you got married to daddy and I get married to Alex!

(not sure he will like that story when he is 16).

Bible Time Funnies...

The picture is what we did for Bible Time today.. it was taken with my cell phone so excuse the quality. You may or may not be able to see that we have placed a baby peanut (Moses) inside a cupcake holder (the basket) to show the boys that Moses was in a basket as he went down the river. We are learning about Miriam and how she wanted to protect her baby brother and watched as her mom put him in the river. Anyhoo, The boys each got a turn putting "the baby" in the "basket." Jorge took the baby (peanut) and set it gently in the basket. I took it out and handed it to Alex to take a turn. To which Alex put the "baby" right into his mouth!

Then I had to rescue Moses out of Alex's mouth. Of course everyone, including my niece and nephews, got a huge laugh out it!
Too cute. Hey, its not his fault I was pretending with food. How would that have altered history, eh? If Moses were swallowed?

Bible Time Funnies...

The boys and I do Bible time (devo's) in the morning after we get up.  98% of the time its before we do anything else (apart from pee-peeing on the potty, of course).  We started a new book that is like a Sunday School format.  Craft and a story.  Well we skip the craft this early in the morning and do the story.  

This morning we were learning about Genesis 22:14 and the Lord providing for Abraham and Isaac with a ram out of the thicket.  We had to revisit the fact that Abraham and Isaac went up the mountain to make their sacrifice.  

Me:  Boys do you remember why they went up the mountain?

Jorge:  yes yes ummm they went upa to da top to obey..up to da top in a helicopter.  

Well, that's a new take on the story I hadn't heard in my years at Southeastern.  But boy is it creative.. I love it!  I have a feeling we are going to have lots of these funnies to post!
